Giada Marino is postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Economics and Business of the University of Sassari, where she is part of the research team of I-POLHYS, studying citizens and polarization. She earned a Ph.D. in text and communication science at the Department of Communication Sciences, Humanities and International Studies of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo with a dissertation entitled “Online Identities Continuous Reorganization. Practices of Self-presentation Online in the Era of Ephemeral User Generated Content on Social Media”. Her research interests are focused on the issues of problematic information, digital media, and participatory culture, with a specific focus on digital methods. She published on iCS-Information, Communication & Society, Comunicazione Politica, Problemi dell’Informazione e Mediascapes journal. Since 2017 she is a member of Mapping Italian News research team, led by the University of Urbino and funded by Open Society Foundation, Social Science Research Council, and Facebook, a project studying spread and engagement patterns of political news on Facebook.
